The UbiCar iOS App requires certain permissions in order to successfully record and transmit your trips to the UbiCar servers for processing.

To check your permissions, go to Settings and scroll down until you find the UbiCar App in the list (hint: it will be near the bottom). In this screen, ensure that the UbiCar App has the following permissions turned on:

  • Location: Always
  • Motion and Fitness
  • Background App Refresh
  • Mobile Data

Note: if you have a Pay Per Kilometre (PPK) insurance policy, you will also require the following permissions to allow the app to connect to the OBD.

  • Photos: Read and Write
  • Bluetooth
  • Camera

Note: As well as having these permissions set correctly, please also ensure that Mobile Data and Bluetooth are running on your phone. The simplest way check that these services are running is to open Control Centre by either pulling up from the bottom of your screen or swiping down from the top right, depending on your iPhone version (further details here: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT202769).
